China’s Furniture Exhibition Lead Wellbeing Trends

The 42nd China International Furniture Fair took place in Shanghai from 10-13 September.

Hosting more than 2,000 brands, CIFF spans a 400,000-square-metre exhibition space and include the designated areas: Import & Design Hall, Trendy Furniture, Quality Furniture, Customized Intelligent Home & Kids Furniture, Sofa & Ding/Living Room Furniture, Sofa Hall, Sleep Center, Homedecor & Hometextile & Lifestyle, Outdoor & Leisure, Office Life Pavilion.

While some European brands made an appearance at CIFF it was the Chinese and Taiwanese, with a few brand from Malaysia and Korea that stole the show.

Personal wellbeing seemed to still reign supreme as one of the leading trends in office furniture design as many manufacturers exhibited their versions on sit-stand desks or even cycle-as-you-sit chairs.

Other manufacturers, such as Dee Star roped in European designers to lend a western aesthetic to their products, resulting in an altogether successful partnership.

We look forward to seeing what will come from next year’s fair.
