With the announcement of the bankruptcy of Godfrey Syrett earlier just over two weeks ago, the longstanding office manufacturer was placed under administration, making redundant some 200 members of staff.
Sadly the manufacturer, that was known for their bespoke furniture designs, was subsequently forced to close its doors. Founded just over 70 years ago in 1947 by Ken Godfrey & Harry Syrett in Killingworth, Godfrey Syrett, for a long time, rode the booming tide of British design excellence.
